Physical Activity Instructor


Join our team at HealthWORKS Newcastle! We’re a charity based in the west end of Newcastle upon Tyne. Our aim is to help people improve their health and wellbeing, whatever their age, health problems, ability or background.


We have an exciting opportunity for a Physical Activity Instructor to join our Physical Activity Team. You will be supporting mainstream clients to manage their health and wellbeing though participating in appropriate regular and long term, physical activity sessions.


You will hold a Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing and either Level 2 Certificate in Exercise to Music OR a Level 2 Certificate in Instructing Circuits along with a minimum of one years’ experience of working in a busy gym and studio.



  • 15 hours per week (5 evenings per week and Saturday morning)
  • Grade 4, pay point 9 (£15,296 per annum pro rata)
  • Central base: Community gyms at The Lemington Centre and The Health Resource Centre in Benwell with possible outreach to external venues.
  • Fixed Term to 31 March 2019 with annual review.
  • Completed applications to be received by midday on Friday 13 October 2017
