Healthworks believes that everyone, regardless of the challenges they face- low income, unemployment or poor housing, should have the same opportunity to live in good health. Our aim is to support people facing these issues, across the northeast to maintain and improve their health, wellbeing and life outcomes.
Healthworks tackles health inequalities with a diverse range of projects, activities and interventions that improve health outcomes for individuals, families and communities across the region. We work in partnership with colleagues and communities to devise cost effective solutions that secure sustainable health impacts for many conditions that inhibit quality of life.
Professor Bola Owolabi, Director, Health Inequalities Improvement at NHS England, recently visited Healthworks to find out more about the projects, activities and interventions we deliver which support people of all ages to lead a healthier life. She also found out about how we work with partners across Public Health and the NHS to develop new initiatives and services to meet emerging need and reduce health inequalities in the North East. Take a look at the video to find out more her visit and the services we offer.
