Breastfeeding Peer Support Volunteer Training Opportunities

Breastfeeding is a natural thing that most mothers can do.

However, that doesn’t mean it’s easy. That’s why, in Newcastle, we have a group of Breastfeeding Peer Supporters, who are a network of breastfeeding mothers who have received additional training to provide support and guidance.

If you’ve some time to spare and would like to become a Breastfeeding Peer Support volunteer and make a real difference in your community then please complete the form below.

You’ll attend a 10 week course, covering all aspects of the importance of breastfeeding, how to support women to breastfeed successfully and how to overcome common issues. You’ll also complete a mandatory session for Newcastle Safeguarding Children Board and be invited along to a graduation celebration.

Applications are still open for our next Breastfeeding Peer Support training being held at:

Venue: Newbiggin Hall Children’s Centre

Date: Starts Thursday 2 October
