Change4life in West Newcastle Partnership Event took place on 17 June at St James Church.

There were 52 Attendees from 39 organisations with 35 apologies prior to the event

Lemington Playgroup
We are extending our Playgroup at The Lemington Centre from September 2015 therefore we have space for children entitled to 2 year funding and space for children not entitled, but whose parents would like to pay for Playgroup. Please direct any queries to Stacey Nash / Kaylie Williams 2641959

Greening Wingrove
Greening Wingrove garden festival is on Sunday 2 August 1-4pm if any garden or gardening related organisations would be interested in hosting a stall please contact Johurun.
There will be a champions breakfast on Thursday 25 June 9:30-11am at Stanton Street Lounge for any cycling champions or people who are interested in becoming cycling champions, breakfast will be provided by the Magic Hat Café. The summer family fun day will be on 4 July 10-2pm there will also be the race for life taking place

Ways to Wellness Healthworks
Ways to wellness is a new social prescription service in the west end of the city set up to help people whose daily lives are affected by a long term health condition.
Ways to Wellness is for individuals with Chronic Breathing Difficulties (COPD), Asthma, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Epilepsy and Osteoporosis if aged between 40 – 74 and attend one of 18 selected surgery’s.
Ways to Wellness provides non-medical support from specially trained Link Workers who can work with people in their local community on the areas they need support. Link workers can help build confidence to help empower people to make positive lifestyle choices by developing realistic action plans to help build skills knowledge and confidence. The aim is that the person will start taking control of their own health condition rather than let it control them, and improve ability to talk to their health care professionals
