Change4Life News

Change4Life aims to ensure parents have the essential support and tools they need to make healthier choices for their families.

Our Change4Life staff and volunteers work across Newcastle:

  • Our Change4Life Early Intervention Trainers are Healthworks staff who work in early years settings and promote the key Change4Life messages “Eat well, move more, live longer” in the West and East in targeted areas of the city.
  • Change4Life Champions volunteer to spread the Change4Life messages amongst their families, friends and neighbours and also in any local schools, nurseries, playgroups, toddler groups and community projects they have links with. They are supported by our Change 4 Life Champion Co-ordinator.

We know that modern life can mean we are a lot busier, less active, and more reliant on convenience and fast food than we used to be.  But that’s where Change4Life comes in, helping families with fun ideas to help kids stay healthy, whether with easy recipes for busy weeknights, great sugar swaps, Disney-inspired games to get kids moving or help in understanding food labels.

To help us develop our Change4Life work we have two new developments to tell you about.

Firstly, we have set up a brand new Change4Life West Newcastle Community Group on Facebook,  This is a public group where people who live, work or study in Newcastle  can share information, resources and experiences that help promote the Change4Life key messages.

Secondly, we’ve a brand new Change4Life webpage which has information the work we do, how you can get involved and also information and resources from the national campaign.

You can also pop over to our Healthy Eating and Getting Active pages which have more information about how our work supports the Change4Life key messages.
