Ashley Adamson

Ashley is a Professor of Public Health Nutrition, co-programme director for Public Health & Applied Health Interventions within the Institute of Health & Society and deputy director of the Human Nutrition Research Centre.

She leads a programme of research which includes nutritional epidemiology and intervention studies underpinned by methodological development research. Much of this programme focuses on measurement and understanding of dietary behaviour in children and their families and in the oldest old. Recently Ashley has added a complementary strand of work on assessing physical activity in children, enabling her work to contribute more comprehensively to understanding and tackling the obesity epidemic.

She is PI in the Department of Health Public Health Research Consortium, Associate Director for Fuse UKCRC Centre for Translational Research in Public Health and an applicant in the new NIHR School of Public Health Research. In 2011 Ashley was awarded Fellowship of the Faculty of Public Health through distinction.
