Healthworks believes that every child has the right to the best possible start in life and families should be supported to enable their children to reach their full potential.
Our services are offered in various locations in Newcastle. They are for children and young people and their families, who live in the City.
We enable children to access a variety of free play, learning and development opportunities, and everything on offer is aimed at giving your family the chance to have fun together and develop life skills. We work closely with Newcastle’s Midwifery and Health Visiting team to provide a number of services including Midwife Clinics, Well Baby Clinics and Developmental Clinics, as well as Workshops to support starting solids and toileting.
Working with parents and families, we provide antenatal and breastfeeding information and support through a team of trained staff and volunteers. Our Best Start services are free, confidential and non-judgemental.
The team are trained to provide practical and emotional support to women from conception to birth and we offer information to enable you to make informed choices about how to feed your baby.
We can offer group or one to one sessions with support to achieve your breastfeeding goals, building a happy baby and guidance on returning to work.
Our services for babies up to one year old include ‘Sensory Baby’ sessions and ‘Baby Touch’ massage courses.
We run a term-time timetable offering a range of play and learning opportunities for children up to age 5 and their families.
Activities include ‘Food and Fuel For All’ and ‘Story and Snack’ sessions.
If you have a two, three or four year old, you could be entitled to a fully funded place at our Pre-school!
Our Pre-school provides 15 hours per week, mornings or afternoons, to children between the ages of 2 to 4. Your child can start Pre-school the term after their 2nd birthday.

Zoneworks (inc Zone West) offers children a unique relationship with an inspiring professional.
Through this relationship children are guided to developmental goals that are hard to reach. In regular individual and group sessions confidence is built up until the child is able to independently attend the full range of activities a community can offer.
