NHS Health Checks

The NHS Health Check is a health check-up for adults in England aged 40 to 74.

The NHS Health Check is a check-up for adults in England aged 40 to 74.  It’s designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia.

As we get older, we have a higher risk of developing one of these conditions and an NHS Health Check helps find ways to lower this risk.  To find out if you are eligible for a free NHS Health Check, click here.

During the NHS Health Check, we will ask you some questions about your lifestyle and family medical history and you’ll also have a cholesterol and blood pressure check.

Together we’ll look at the results and identify potential health risks and you’ll be offered personal support to help you stay healthy and reduce the risk of developing a long term health condition.
