Our Pre-school is open Monday to Friday 8.45am-11.45am and 12.30pm-3.30pm term time only and we are registered to have 24 children each session.
Throughout the session children are able to participate in a range of activities both indoors and outdoors. Activities vary from physical, messy play, exploring, mark making, maths and role play. We pride ourselves on the children’s interests being central to their learning and development.
We continuously ‘Observe, Assess and Plan’ through the children’s play interests following guidelines from the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and we use these observations to record and track the children’s individual development, and we recognise that parents are young children’s first educators and welcome their involvement.
Our Pre School acknowledges and values each child’s individual stage, ability, culture, religion, language and family group and we are committed to the integration of children with disabilities/additional needs. We believe that children with additional needs have the right to play and be educated and to develop to their full potential alongside other children.
When Ofsted assessed our Pre-School they judged us to be a Good provider and they said:
“Children have a strong relationship with their key person. They are excited to see them on arrival and settle quickly. Children are happy, secure and behave well, which underpins their learning and development effectively”.

Free sessions are available to some two year olds and to all three and four year olds. If you are not eligible for a free place we also offer paid sessions at £78 a week for 5×3 hour sessions.

Cook, Play and Learn
Our Community Skills Team has been developing some lovely Cook Play and Learn activities with our friends over at the Community Family Hub West.
Every Wednesday at 10am the Community Family Hub team host a facebook storytime where they read a favourite children’s story and we have produced a lovely online activity resource to accompany the story and really bring it to life through activity ideas, videos, recipes and virtual experiences.

Change 4 Life
Change4Life was launched in 2009 as part of a national ambition set out in the government’s Healthy Weight, Healthy Lives (2008) to help tackle childhood obesity.
Its purpose has been to inspire a social movement, through which government, the NHS, local authorities, businesses, charities, schools, families and community leaders can all play a part in improving children’s diets and physical activity levels. Our staff and volunteer Change4Life Champions work with early years settings and families with young children in targeted areas in the City. Their aim is to promote the Change4Life key message of “Eat well, mover more, live longer”.
