We offer a range of in-person, virtual and online training.

We currently offer training courses online and offline as follows:

  • Accredited Royal Society For Public Health training courses
  • Health and Wellbeing training

Cancer Awareness:

We currently offer a range of Cancer Awareness training online, virtually and in person.

 

Cancer Conversations online training

Our new Cancer Conversations course is a free online awareness session that has been designed to raise awareness of the signs, symptoms and risks of many common cancer types and also help people feel more confident to spread the word and have impactful cancer conversations with others.  Enrol for free and help us spread the word!

Cancer Awareness Sessions

Learn about cancer awareness for free! Our interactive sessions are available to people, workplaces or community group based in Newcastle or Gateshead and other parts of the North East (please check with us to see if we cover your area).  With information learnt through Cancer Research UK’s training programme, Talk Cancer, these sessions can help equip people to have impactful cancer conversations with others.

In addition to in-person sessions, we can also host Cancer Awareness group sessions virtually.  In person and virtual Cancer Awareness Sessions are available to groups and organisations in Newcastle and Gateshead (and some other areas, please contact us to see if we cover your area.  Participants will receive a Healthworks Cancer Awareness Certificate of Achievement for participating so this is a great way to bring groups and teams together and develop individuals skills and knowledge further.

Group size needs to be between 8 to 12 people. You will need to provide the space to host this course.  This is FREE of charge in funded areas*. Cost £240 where funding is not available.

North East Cancer Champions Training

North East Cancer Champions are volunteers who can help us spread the word about cancer. This could be with family, friends and
colleagues. The training covers the most common cancers and looks at signs, symptoms and risk reduction. Cancer Champions can help people find the early help they may need.

Group size needs to be between 8 to 12 people. You will need to provide the space to host this course. This is offered FREE of charge in funded areas*. Cost £240 where funding is not available.

Royal Society For Public Health training

These courses lead to a certificate from RSPH. There is an end test for each one and this is taken on the day of the course. This is really useful for those working with food in either paid or unpaid roles.

Level 1 Award in Food Hygiene and Awareness

Food safety is important. On this course you will learn about food safety and the law. Ideal for those in a low risk role that involves some food handing.

 

Half-day course.
Group cost: £260, plus £11 per person certification cost
Cost per person £50 plus £11 certification fee

Level 2 Award in Food Hygiene and Awareness
This course is aimed at people who will be preparing and handling food. You will learn about food safety hazards and good hygiene.
Full day course
Group cost: £450, plus £11 per person certification cost
Cost per person £70 plus £11 certification fee

Level 2 Award in Identifying and Controlling Food Allergy Risks
Every year lots of people have a reaction to food they have eaten. This can be fatal. Learn more about food control to reduce this happening. Useful for people who work in catering or serve food.
Full day course

Cost per person £70 plus £11 certification fee
